Week 4:
After years of putting the idea of going back to school on the back burner, I finally decided to pursue Computer Science as my second undergraduate degree. I was already working as a backend engineer before i got laid off last year. My first bachelors degree was in Economics and Mathematics. Although, these are science related, not having the degree in computer science has made it more difficult for me to obtain jobs. Additionally, I want to pursue a masters/Phd in Computer Science in the long run. And the schools in California which I was looking at require the undergraduate degree to be in Computer Science. Due to the competitive nature of this field, colleges have created rigid masters programs. This is one motivation for wanting to pursue this degree from Monterey Bay. My goal at the end of the day is to go back to backend engineering/data engineering. I fully enjoyed working with SQL and databases and java. I also engaged in a good deal of Python.
